Breath better,
sleep better.train better.live better.

See how your breathing patterns may be shaping your focus, energy, and stress levels—then get clear steps to improve. Backed by science.

You take 20,000 breaths a day.
Most of them are working against you.

Your breathing patterns affect everything, your sleep, focus, stress response, and energy. The problem? You're not aware of most of them. Over the years, our breath changes to match the environment. In a world of increasing technology and distraction, our breath has started to shift, and not in a good way. Remindful helps you measure what's actually happening with your breath, then shows you exactly how to retrain it.

A Personal Journey

From Stress to Stillness

Daniel was born in 1987 in South London, his teenage mother kicked out for having a "half black" child. After building a career in advertising and tech, he realised the past shows up in many ways, especially in high-pressure work environments.

Despite moving to Australia and building a successful career, stress from his upbringing would show up in his body, particularly in his breath. When he began to shift the way he breathed, his mind (and the stories that came with it) began to calm. He discovered how breathing could help others too.Now certified as an Advanced Instructor with Oxygen Advantage and Master Instructor with Breathless, Daniel has helped thousands of employees at Google, Salesforce, Atlassian, and others find a calm mind in the chaos of work. His approach is designed for busy, analytical minds that struggle with traditional meditation. He built Remindful so anyone can learn to use their breath, no matter what they carry from their past.

Here's How It Works

Start by understanding what your breathing shows about you.

Breathing patterns can influence your focus, energy, sleep, and stress levels—often without you noticing. Simply answer a short questionnaire and complete a timed breathing check to receive a clear score, personalised insights, and a simple plan to improve over time.

Tell Us Where You're Starting (1-2 mins)

Answer a few questions about your breathing, sleep, energy, and stress. This helps us tailor your assessment and training plan to your specific patterns.

Run Your Breathing Assessment (2-3 mins)

Sit comfortably and follow the guided timer. We'll measure key patterns, your breath rhythm, pace, and hold capacity, giving you a clear snapshot of where you are right now.

See Your Score & Insights (instant)

Get your breathing score with a breakdown of what's working and what needs attention. We'll show you exactly where you sit compared to a well-regulated breathing system.

Start Your personalised Training (5-8 mins/day)

Based on your results, you'll get a daily breath retraining program tailored to you. Most people notice improvements in sleep and stress management within 1-2 weeks, with results compounding from there.

Track Your Progress Over Time

We monitor your improvements and adjust your training automatically. All you need to do is open the app and follow your session for the day. Done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers, so you can breathe easier

If you’re wondering how the assessment works, what your score means, or how to get the most from daily practice, you’re in the right place. Here are the questions we hear most often—written to help you feel confident before you begin.

How long does the assessment take?
The full assessment takes about 5 minutes: 1-2 minutes to answer some questions about your current habits, then 2-3 minutes for the guided breathing test itself. You'll get your results instantly.
How much does it cost?
Your first 14 days are completely free: no card required. This gives you time to take the assessment, start your personalised training, and see if you notice a difference. After that, it's $8/month to continue. We also offer free access to anyone unemployed or going through financial difficulty, just reach out to hello@beremindful.com and we'll sort you out. If you want extra support, we offer a $16/month option that includes access to a monthly live online session where you can ask questions and get personalised guidance.
What if I'm pregnant?
Our retraining program is designed to be safe during pregnancy. We automatically adjust your plan to dramatically reduce breath hold times, so you can still benefit from the calming practices while keeping you and your baby safe.
Do I need medical advice before starting?
This app is designed to be safe for most people. However, if you have any concerns or contraindications such as asthma, panic disorders, or other respiratory conditions, it's worth speaking to your GP before starting, just to be safe. Let them know the program involves some light breath holds as part of the training.
Is there scientific evidence this works?
Yes. Research consistently shows that breathwork training produces real, measurable benefits: A 2023 review in Scientific Reports found that breathwork significantly reduces stress and anxiety while improving mood. Research published in Frontiers in Psychology showed that slow breathing helps regulate the nervous system and diminishes stress responses. Studies on CO2 tolerance training specifically have found that it increases tolerance to carbon dioxide, reduces the urge to breathe, and improves overall breathing efficiency. The evidence shows that with consistent practice, most people see improvements within just a few weeks.
How is my breathing score calculated?
We look at all aspects of your breathing, from your inhale and exhale patterns to your breath hold capacity. Your score is based on how these measurements compare to what a healthy, well-regulated breathing system looks like. As we grow, we'll make this even more personalised by adjusting for factors like your age and gender, which naturally affect breathing patterns.
How is this different from Wim Hof Method or Breakthrough Breathwork?
Great question! Wim Hof and Breakthrough Breathwork are fantastic and really put breathing on the map. Those sessions can feel very euphoric in the moment, but they work by offloading CO2 from your body. This tool helps to retrain the breath through increasing CO2 in a safe and controlled way, which will help to shift your unconscious breathing. Same instrument, different applications. (And yes, both can complement one another)
